Looks like President Obama’s six month moratorium on deep water drilling was too much too late. Or was it too much too soon or too little too late?
Whatever. Start drilling.

How would you like the government spending over $800 billion of your money on so-called food safety in one year? Do a quick research on Senate Bill S510. If you like to grow your own food and like access to seeds and plants, you really want to read this. If you like to buy from your local farmer’s market, you really want to read about this.

I think I’m past questioning the sanity of this country, it seems as if everyday there is more proof this country has gone totally insane. This country is in debt up to their eyeballs, the economy is in the tank, unemployment continues to rise and our government really wants to waste time and who knows how much money if it’s going to cost over $800 billion in just one year to make all food traceable?
When is enough ever going to be enough?
I’ve about reached my limit with the government’s hands in my pocket while wanting to tell me if and how many guns I can own, what food I can and can not eat and now whether I can grow my own food and share it with my neighbor?
How long is it going to be before illegals, animals and plants have more rights than Americans?
I can’t help but believe there are many people who fought and died for our country and our freedom who are turning over in their graves watching how we’re letting our government take our freedom away from us.
Come on, now. They’re only trying to help.

It’s all about what they WOULD do if we don’t pay attention. There are lots of people in power who would love to take everybody’s guns or limit the type and quantity.
Actually, by the sounds of the article, the moratorium was exactly what was needed in order to create a workable set of regulations and protections in an area that had been neglected by the government and abused by private industry.
By all means, lift the moratorium early (and the article indicated that it could be lifted as much as two months early) if the new regulations are in place and can safeguard the economy of the Gulf Coast and the environment. That said, don’t fall back into a do nothing but drill more mentality.
Hopefully, this spill, combined with sky high oil prices from two years ago will create the impetus for private and governmental agencies to push new technology which will reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. Nothing will change our adversaries dominance in fossil fuels. Lets change the game and created better technologies that we can dominate, improving our economy and the environment while weakening those opposed to us.
I think one big mistake that too many people make is discounting the other uses of oil—to make the ingredients that went into building the computer I’m typing on right now, for example. What I got out of the oil spill is that the govt., by not allowing the oil companies to drill in shallower water, contributed to the cause of the accident.
That is where nothing is ever thought through or the people pushing for crap don’t really give a crap is that oil is used for many different things. That the meat they don’t want us to eat and want the slaughter of any animal banned, a lot more than just meat is used from animals. People just don’t realize how much of our lives depend on many of things they want rid of.
But it doesn’t stop the EPA is considering a new regulation and the way I understand it their decision whether to accept or reject the petition will come Nov. 1.
Their decision to adopt regulations prohibiting the manufacture, processing, and distribution in commerce of lead shot, lead bullets, lead fishing sinkers, and other lead-containing fishing gear, pursuant to TSCA.
You can submit a commit online to the EPA.
You can write to the Administrator; Lisa Jackson.
And of course you can contact your reps.
I will do all three, but I’m not holding my breath thinking it will do any good. Lisa Jackson was responsible for banning bear hunting in New Jersey, so I don’t think she’s really for hunting or fishing. I also doubt she really likes guns, so this sounds like the perfect way to finally get around the 2nd Amendment.

I have no problem with developing other technology, but until that time comes we need oil for more than just our cars.
Yes! If you can’t trust the big oil companies who can you trust?
I’ve benefited more from the Big Oil companies than by anything the federal government has done to “help” me.
