Looks like Obamamania has waned in Pittsburgh.

Conservatives are ridiculed for their distrust of Barack Obama’s love for America, but how can you not question how strongly he believes in what the country stands for when he is running around the world apologizing?

Wikileaks released a cable that was sent from the Japanese to Hillary Clinton.

A heretofore secret cable dated Sept. 3, 2009, was recently released by WikiLeaks. Sent to Secretary of State Clinton, it reported Japan’s Vice Foreign Minister Mitoji Yabunaka telling U.S. Ambassador John Roos that “the idea of President Obama visiting Hiroshima to apologize for the atomic bombing during World War II is a ‘nonstarter.’”

The Japanese feared the apology would be exploited by anti-nuclear groups and those opposed to the defensive alliance between Japan and the U.S.

I saw the movie “Ides of March” today with George Clooney.

He plays a governor of Ohio who is running for president.

In one of his speeches, he promises that, within 10 years of his election, there will be no more internal combustion engines in the United States.

It’s fiction, but making promises like that is not all that far from reality.

Barack Obama told us that sea levels were going to recede if/when he was elected.

Here’s a little scorecard on what’s happened to our money since President Obama decided to spread our wealth around to “Green” businesses.

• SpectraWatt, Inc., of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., scored $500,000 from the Energy Department in June 2009 and $150,000 from the National Science Foundation in June 2010, Bloomberg reports. Last August 19, the solar-power company went bust.

• Evergreen Solar was stimulated with $5.3 million of Massachusetts government cash and praised by the White House for helping to “kickstart the economy.” Evergreen went bankrupt last August 15.

• Mountain Plaza, Inc., went bankrupt in 2003. Nonetheless, its “truck-stop electrification” technology won $424,000 in EPA stimulus funds administered by Tennessee’s transportation department. Yet again, Mountain Plaza filed for bankruptcy in June 2010.

• Notwithstanding its February 2009 bankruptcy and default on a $58 million loan from BNP Paribas, Wisconsin-based Olsen’s Mill Acquisition was stimulated with $10 million in January 2010, along with Olsen’s Crop Services. Jeff Bollier of the OshKosh Northwestern reported that Olsen’s Mill “buys crops grown by farmers across the eastern and central parts of Wisconsin and sells it to end users such as Utica Energy’s ethanol plant on State Highway 91.” ADM purchased the defunct operation’s assets last month.

And there’s more green waste.

But let’s raise taxes on the rich so we can have more money to invest in green energy.

How would you feel if a guy wearing a badge showing that he worked for the federal government showed up at your front door and demanded that you give him 10 dollars, or a dollar or a quarter?

You ask why and he say, “Mrs. Jones down the street needs an abortion.”

And you say you’re not interested in contributing to the “Mrs. Jones Abortion Fund.”

He says, “I’m not asking for your money. Either you give me a quarter or we’ll have you thrown in jail.”

Of course, nobody would put up with that for a minute –even people who are OK with abortion.

That’s exactly what will happen every day in America if Obamacare isn’t repealed.

It won’t happen like that, but every day you will be forced to pay for someone’s abortion or birth control pills. Maybe even condoms.

I’ll never understand how this could be imagined –much less allowed to happen — in what is supposed to be a free country.

Ron Paul is now beating Obama in the Harris poll.

Toast.

Ted Leonsis, the owner of the Washington Capitals, is not a popular or sympathetic figure in Pittsburgh, but he’s OK in my book.

Leonsis voted for Barack Obama and has donated the maximum amount allowed to his campaign.

Sounds like Obama shouldn’t be counting on him 2012.

“I voted for our President. I have maxed out on personal donations to his re-election campaign. I forgot his campaign wants to raise $1 billion. THAT is a lot of money–money–money–money! Money still talks. It blows my mind when I am asked for money as a donation at the same time I am getting blasted as being a bad guy!

Someone needs to talk our President down off of this rhetoric about good vs. evil; about two classes and math.

Our country was founded on the premise of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”. Is anyone happy right now with all of this?

Hit a reset button ASAP.

Rethink how to talk to businesses and sell business leaders on your plan to make America great!

Many of us want to be a part of the solution. We aren’t the problem.”

I know in the companies that I own personally or am the largest shareholder that we support now more than 500 charities. We care. Pick some business leaders that you work with and make them heroes. Don’t demonize them. Showcase them as great Americans that care and hire and employ people.

Employment is the biggest issue you will face when re-election comes. If people aren’t working, they will blame you and your administration. And since you have never worked before in a real job for a real company, you need help from people who have been there. Don’t push them away!”
