313 AT 63

My brother Bill is back home. He traced the route that John Steinbeck took 50 years ago on his way to writing the American Classic “Travels With Charley”.

I’m trying to imagine my dad or the father of one of my friends, at 63, getting into his car and driving 313 miles a day for several weeks.

Bill proved that 63 ain’t what it used to be.

A PITTSBURGH GUY IN MONTANA

My brother Bill ran into a pretty famous Pittsburgh guy in Montana yesterday. He’s in the middle of his Travels Without Charley, following the route that John Steinbeck took exactly 50 years ago on his way to writing the American classic, “Travels With Charley.”

The famous Pittsburgh guy is a former college buddy of mine, who makes an appearance in my book, “Just Watch The Game.”
