Sorry to bring up an old topic John, but I found this clip from a Redskins game...

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=602_1293551529

I started attending games with my father when I was around 4 or 5 years old and there were drunks at the games and we laughed at them. They were harmless for the most part. Unfortunately, it's different today. There are way more drunks and way more fights at these games.

i should also add this dave...i'm proud of my achievements in sports but i wouldn't go as far as to call them impressive...plenty of people have done what i've done and if they were that impressive you'd be watching me on tv right now instead of me blogging on here...i may come across as an ass but i like to think i have a decent reality check...especially on my own life...ha ha

i know they consistently hit 90 because the radar guns tell me they are hitting 90. as for reasons they aren't in div I....there are and can be plenty: finances, maybe their best pitch is a fastball and there other stuff is not as good, maybe they are merely only interested in an education, preference of schools, would rather stay close to home, , didn't go to the minors due to what amounts to a crap shoot if they make it to the bigs....and there quite a few who also left college early or went to the minors after college...etc., etc, etc....

if you say you know baseball, then that's great, but i also know baseball AND i know people and their personalities. check out the left hander from thomas moore college in kentucky who, for some odd reason, has all of their conference located in western pa...he regularly hit 90. the senior from W&J regularly hit 90 last year. with the school i work with, i'm not telling you because this is personal, our sophomore pitcher consistently hit 88 and occasionally hit 90 and that will only improve over the next 2 years.

you're trying to encapsulate college athletics into one easy to define category and that is the farthest thing from the truth especially when the sport is baseball...if you KNOW baseball as you say you do then you would know this as well. fyi: people inflate their 4.4 times because football is the most popular sport and around everybody is a football star even if they don't play....i don't inflate pitch speed or sprint times for i tell the truth and it's not my style to lie for myself of for someone else.

Nice resume. I figured if you were telling the truth you had to have gone to school outside of the area and didn't play both in the same calendar year.

As for working with 10 DIII pitchers in this area who break 90....you're just making that up or fudging clock times. I know baseball (especially in this area) and I know fools that lie about fastball times.

Fudging Fastball Times is almost as popular as the "I have 4.4 forty speed" myth.

I would say one out of every 100 kids who say they can run 4.4's are accurate....similarly 1 out of every 100 kids who say they can throw 90 are telling the truth.

Next time you see one of these 10 DIII kids you know who throw 90. Ask them why their not at D1 school (or in the minors) if they throw heat like that.

dave,

Assumption college in massachussettes is where i went. was recruited for baseball along with hockey but i chose to just play hockey, which i did, for my freshman and sophomore year. i played d and was an offensive defensemen since i had pretty good puck handling skills and was pretty damn good on the skating aspect not to mention a rocket of a shot which i still have...care to go in net against me? I still skate and do stick time at least 3 times a week regularly.

completely tore my acl and partial tear of my mcl in the 3rd game of my junior year. obtained a medical redshirt since i was on a 5 year plan to begin with. after surgery although i could still skate well i could no longer move like i used to because of pain and fatigue and decided to play baseball my 4th and 5th years since i continued to play summer ball in a wooden bat league during my freshman and sophomore years in this area and since the strain on my surgically repaired knee was obviously not as great as it was in hockey. i played second base and my final year i made all-conference when i batted .459 in 48 games including 2 homers against boston red sox farm team (that also included several future major leaguers) in a doubleheader in my last florida trip...we did get crushed though. i also made all conference honorable mention my sophomore year in hockey.

i also played against several future major league players and faced quite a few pitchers who threw regularly in the 90's...so there goes you theory about diminished talent along with your theory of me not having enough time to play both sports. we also played during our florida trips in the spring against several div I schools and beat quite a few of them. just take a drive to some of the div. III schools around this area and you tell me how slow they pitch...I know for a fact how hard they throw since i also work with one of them each spring....last year there were 10 pitchers in this area at the div III level who were regularly breaking 90...dude, you don't know what you're talking about then obviously.

so, smart guy...anything else you wanna know and want me to shut down?

I played DII Baseball and could tell you first hand that if Deion Sanders played at that level, he would not only dominate, he would be one of the greatest DII players ever.

DII baseball is filled with 85mph fastballs and leadoff hitters with 6.8 60 times.

Also Scooter, I'm going to call your bluff. I can't see how someone could play the combination of those two sports at that level with the time restrictions of those respective seasons. Either you went to school far out of this area, or you played NCAA DII baseball and club hockey at a NCAA DII school (such as Cal U or something like that).

Prove me wrong and tell me which school offers DII Baseball and Hockey.

I own my own company...who's working the 3rd shift as a mop guy at the nude booths at the adult bookstore working out for you?

And what level have you played? Make fun of me for playing Div. II all you want but it's still 12 levels higher than anything you've ever done in your life, loser.

you say that deion couldn't hold your jock in baseball, so basically you're saying D2 baseball at cal u or iup is better than the major leagues
