DID OBAMA TRY TO BRIBE THE REVEREND?

The headline story on the Drudge Report is from the New York Post. Reverend Wright says that President Obama tried to pay him to shut up.

Will this get the same amount of coverage that the stupid story about Romney in high school got?

Should it?

Yep. It should be the number one story on every network. It’s more important than his statement about gay marriage and the story about Romney when he was 17.

It shows that the guy who sold himself as someone different from all the rest and above politics was/is nothing but another Chicago political hack.

Not to mention a liar and a phony.

If this story had come out in October of 2008, John McCain would be running for re-election right now.

One thing you can be sure of. It will be dismissed by Obama’s supporters because it appeared in the New York Post.

You’ll be expected to believe that the New York Post is more biased and has less of an agenda than the Washington Post, where the Romney story was on the front page.

It will be interesting to see if Obama is ready to call his mentor, pastor and the man whose quote he used for the title of his book, a liar.

“Who sent the e-mail?” I asked Wright.

QUIET, PLEASE: President Obama’s onetime pastor Jeremiah Wright says he was offered money not to preach.

AP
QUIET, PLEASE: President Obama’s onetime pastor Jeremiah Wright says he was offered money not to preach.

“It was from one of Barack’s closest friends.”

“He offered you money?”

“Not directly,” Wright said. “He sent the offer to one of the members of the church, who sent it to me.”

“How much money did he offer you?”

“One hundred and fifty thousand dollars,” Wright said.

“Did Obama himself ever make an effort to see you?”

“Yes,” Wright said. “Barack said he wanted to meet me in secret, in a secure place. And I said, ‘You’re used to coming to my home, you’ve been here countless times, so what’s wrong with coming to my home?’ So we met in the living room of the parsonage of Trinity United Church of Christ, at South Pleasant Avenue right off 95th Street, just Barack and me. I don’t know if he had a wire on him. His security was outside somewhere.

“And one of the first things Barack said was, ‘I really wish you wouldn’t do any more public speaking until after the November election.”

How much will have to be thrown in the Rev’s collection basket to get him to say he never said those things or was taken out of context?  I wouldn’t be surprised if his comments were recorded.

Toast.

Wright err Right you are John. Go try finding that story at CNN.com, ABCNews.com, CBSNews.com, etc., etc. The MSM have bee squashing Jeremiah Wright stories for four years now. This man was Obama’s spiritual leader and mentor. Obama brought his family to this assclown’s services to hear him rant about the USA of KKK and God Damned America. Now we hear that Obama and Co. gave him hush money and still NOTHING from the MSM.

Cracks me up these left-wing folks rail against FOX News, Drudge, Breitbart, etc. just because those outlets don’t further their agenda.

    • Blasto

Neil…do you see your hypocrisy ? You just railed against the media outlets that don’t further YOUR agenda..

      • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

Those outlets had a monopoly on news coverage until Fox came along and now liberals dismiss Fox because it’s biased. Inf fact,it’s less biased than the other outlets have been for the last 50years.

        • oksteeler

At one point in time I would agree FOXnews was very biased, not so much anymore. Hannity is biased, but like with Limbaugh you know you’re getting a point of view from the right. O’reilly pisses off conservatives all the time. Regardless that’s one news channel vs ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC.

        • Dan

People don’t dismiss Fox because it’s biased, people dismiss Fox because it flat out makes shit up and reports falsehoods and calls itself a news channel.

          • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

What shit did it make up? And how often. And do I need to cite examples of NBC, The NY Times and CBS making shit up?

          • JimGott

-NBC News recently doctored a 911 phone call tape in an effort to further its agenda of exposing the false epidemic of how racist the average white man is against blacks, and they still call themselves a news channel.

          • Dan

Go ahead and discredit NBC news. I’m all for it. I don’t watch it and never have.

  • Mike from Boston

    Two quick things:

    1) This is huge, this is textbook Chicago political corruption, as if Rahm Emmanuel wasn’t a big enough give away about Barack Obama’s real political nature behind closed doors. I completely agree that this deserves to get full nationwide coverage, and if it gets quashed everywhere else but Fox News that will speak volumes about journalistic integrity in this country.

    2) You’re wrong about the Mitt Romney comments, they are not a big nothing. Not because he was a jagoff in high school, but because he shows zero remorse for it now and even made a half-assed attempt at not remembering it. It speaks volumes about his character, that he’s a scumbag, just as this news about Obama speaks his volumes about his character as a scumbag as well.

When Mitt was finally cornered into admitting the truth about his acts of bullying in the past, he said the following: “If anybody was hurt or offended by that, then I apologize.”

So he’s only sorry IF somebody was offended? He’s not sorry for being a horrible person, he’s only sorry if his spineless acts hurt somebody’s feelings. And the victim had a name, he wasn’t just “somebody”.

He had 47 years to say “I did some dumb things in high school and I’m sorry”. It wasn’t until the major news media broke the story that he got pressured into a half-assed apology.

Barack Obama may be a scumbag, but John let that underwrite the fact that Mitt Romney is also a scumbag. Neither one is the lesser of two evils, they’re both really damn evil in nearly equal amounts.

    • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

I was a senior in high school in 1965. The Beatles were brand new. There as an ongoing battle between the kids with long hair and the kids who thought they looked like girls. It has to be judged in the context of the times and not in the context of 2012. He was 17. At our 40th high school reunion I made a point to apologize to a guy who we relentlessly made fun of from 1962-1966. It’s ridiculous to judge anybody based on what they did at 17. The Obama story is less than 4 years old and involves his actions as a presidential candidate. To mention the two stories in the same sentence is absurd.

      • Mike from Boston

I won’t disagree that it’s ridiculous to judge what people do as teenagers. But the issue with Romney is that, unlike you, he didn’t take it upon himself to reflect on his idiotic behavior and make a sincere apology, in private with the guy he tormented, of his own volition. You clearly grew up, saw that what you did was wrong, and made amends. He didn’t. That says something about his character and his integrity (and lack thereof).

That having been said, it’s not an act of corruption like bribing a friend to stay out of the press. Barack Obama is afraid that voters will judge him based on who he chooses to freely associate with. They are right to do so, and he’s right to be afraid of that.

No, the two stories don’t belong in the same sentence. But you asked if the Obama story would get the same amount of news coverage, which asks for a comparison of the two stories to be made. And although the Romney story isn’t an act of corruption, it’s still news. It’s still news because bullying is a hot topic these days, largely thanks to helicopter parents blowing it out of proportion. It’s also news because the press wants to paint Romney as a homophobe, although I personally suspect he cut that kid’s hair was because the kid had hippie-hair in the 60s, not because of sexual orientation.

        • Dan

How is paying Wright to shutup an act of corruption? Wright isn’t involved in any way with government. This isn’t like voting for some lobbyists wishes in exchange for $50,000 and a free addition on your house. It’d be a story if Obama put the squeeze on him in some way, like threatened to have his church ransacked by the IRS each week or having the guy’s car towed by the Chicago PD every time it was parked crooked or worse. You seem to have your head on straight….do you not see how mild this is? Apparently the reverend didn’t take the money and both parties moved on. And that’s even assuming the story is true. I’m anxious to hear if Obama responds to this.

          • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

Obama wasn’t president yet. Didn’t have the power. This isn’t mild. At the time Obama was being portrayed as the antipoltician –!the guy who was going Io bring us together. He also was suspected of being a radical and un-American and he was insulting people’s intelligence by saying that he had no idea what a racist, radical anti-American his pastor of 20 years was. He was getting a pass from the media on Tony Rezco and Bill Ayers. Obama knew that he was unelectable if the truth got out. He knew the media weren’t going to pursue it. Wright could bring down the campaign. This exposes him as the fraudulent, radical, political hack that he is.

          • Mike from Boston

Asking Wright not to speak out mild and harmless. A friend of mine was applying for a job with the federal government and had to ask several buddies to not sabotage his background check with crazy stories. There’s nothing wrong with saying to a friend “hey this is important to me, put a lid on it for a little while”.

But when hush money is involved, that’s corruption. If you have to bribe somebody to keep your positive image, then that means that what’s underneath the surface must be pretty rotten.

          • Dan

Was what was underneath the surface of your friend pretty rotten, or was he just being careful because he maybe had a mole hill in his past and was afraid someone was going to try to turn it into a mountain?

          • Mike from Boston

He was just being careful, that’s why all he had to do was politely ask people to not screw over his background check. He never resorted to bribe money.

        • oksteeler

Bullying is a big deal, yet the gay man leading the charge, the same guy who has met with the President bullied Christian kids. I’m so sick of the bullying crap and just maybe Romney never reflected on it because he wasn’t doing it to be a bully. Just maybe the story was embellished.

The press won’t report anything bad about Obama because Obama gives them chills. I can agree on that he gives me chills as well, just not the same kind.

          • Blasto

Who is included in “The Press”..Fox news..? The NY Post.?? the Drudge report.??..Washington Times..??..National Review..?? All day and night talk radio in every single market in the United States..? Are these part of that great mass media conspiracy that the GOPes are always crying about.?

          • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

The Associated Press, NBC, CBS, CNN, NBC and 90% of the newspapers in the country for starters.

  • Matt C.

John, I am like you, but no matter what the liberal media will never say anything against Obama. No matter what he does, no matter how many lies he tells, no matter how bad he continues to screw up this country, he will be praised. The worse part is that there is a large group of people who feel the same as the media. No matter what, they worship him. 2 stimulus packages did nothing but put us more in debt and now he wants a third one. Selling our country out by saying he is sorry for us to other countries? What kind of leadership is that? Taking vacations all on tax payers dollars or his wife taking them? The flip flops on issues so he can try to get this group or that group to support him. It would not be a surprise at all if next week he is trying to get the Christian vote by saying he is against gay marriage and abortion before he was for it and then against it again. Its all ok though because the liberal media will not tell the truth about him. His own stories about himself, shoving a little girl to the ground was not a big deal, but what Romney was to the press. Again its a joke. I actually hope its all a nightmare and I wake up and he was never voted into office. I can hope can’t I?

  • Gary M

I listened to the author on the drive home this evening. He says he has 3-31/2 of tapes with his interview with Wright.
He also detailed how he obtained at least 2 collaborating first hand sources that heard Bill call floppy ears an amateur as a president and that he wanted Hillary to run against him this year.
He explained how the Obama’s really treated Oprah less than one would expect after she campaigned really hard to get him elected. (She has said she won’t campaign for him this time)
I’m sure all of this will be closely vetted but of the three, the Clinton quote is what worries me. Because if it’s true, and they really believe that this guy is taking the country down a path that will take generations to dig out, then they are putting party ahead of country. And for a guy who has already been president, that is just sad and a good reason we look more like Greece and Spain every day.

    • Blasto

WELL, at least we know the GOP would never put Party ahead of Country.

  • Alex Anjali

You are really digging hard to find something that people care about, but this isn’t it. No one cares about wright, just like no one cares about mitt bullying when he was 18.

    • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

People care whether Obama is a lying phony, which Wright proves he is.

      • Tattoo Rick

If you are waiting for someone to run for pres that isn’t a lying phony you would be better served staying home on election day. When lefty and right wing nuts argue politics it reminds me of nerds debating who is the best Star Wars character.

        • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

It’s a matter of degrees. I’m a big fan of stupid people staying home on election day.

  • Mike from Monroeville

Lets ask about Donald Gregg, who knows all about GHW Bush’s involvement in Iran Contra but got a cushy ambassadorship to keep his trap shut.

Or Jennifer Fitzgerald, who was his mistress and was given cushy jobs in the State Dept.

    • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

Sounds like you’ve already heard about it.

      • Paul

Is GWHB running for president again? I must have missed that one.

  • Tim

Wrong again John. I don’t dismiss the story because it came from the NY Post. I dismiss it because there is no name attached to the individual who made the alleged offer. Who was it? Why didn’t it come out in 2008? Why won’t he say who it was now? All point to the story being a total fabrication. Yawn.

    • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

How about the direct quotes from the Rev? Is Obama going to call hm a liar. Are you saying that it’s not worth a follow up by other main stream media outlets? Do you think a similar story about Romney would get the attention of ABC,CBS,NBC & CNN? Obama got a pass from most ofmthe media in 2008. They were too busy trashing Palin. It took them several weeks to pick up on thebRev Wright story.

      • Dan

Worth a follow-up for sure. The media wouldn’t be doing it’s job if it didn’t. Unless the outcome involves taxpayer money being used ot pay the guy off? A story worth skipping. There are real problems that need addressed.

        • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

It’s a real problem if the guy who wants 4 more years is a liar and a fraud. Not to mention a political hack.

      • Tim

Not the job of CNN ABC NBC AND CBS or even Fox News to “follow up.” It is the NY Post’s story. Are they not incapable of asking who made the offer? They had the exclusive with Wright. They were more interested in generating headlines than in doing quality journalism. Just like with Crosby and the cowardly lion bit they did a while back.

        • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

Of course it’s their job. The Post probably agreed not to disclose the name in order to get the story from Wright. Happens all the time. Or Wright may have refused to give it to them. Wright’s comments ARE the story anyway. Is he now lying about his former protege? Is Obama or anybody in his administration prepared to call a pastor — Obama’s pastor for 20 years and his mentor — a liar? Do you actually believe that those outlets wouldn’t follow up on a story about Romeny or someone in his organization being accused by a former mentor of offering hush money? Come on.

          • Tim

This story by the Post is another example of tabloid journalism. They did nothing to verify the story, they just printed the words of one man. Wright said he was emailed the offer. Let’s see the email.

          • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

This is a story if there is no email. Wright says he met with Obama.mdo you need video tape? Where’s the video of M
Romney cutting the kid’s hair? Where was the video of Lewinsky giving Clinton a hummer?

          • Tim

The Romney story had 5 eyewitnesses. Monica supplied the blue dress with Bill’s love stain on it. Time for Wright or the NY Post to supply some corroborating evidence.

          • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

Wright’s statements are the evidence. He says he met with Obama privately. Who’s going to corroborate it. The author has 3 1/2 hours of tape with Wright. Obama can cal him a liar any time.

          • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

The words came from the man who told the story. Who’s a better source than that? Wright also says he saved the email. Maybe he’s holding on to it because the value will be much higher in, say, October.

          • Tim

Fine. Let’s wait till October and see if it pops up again. Until then it’s tabloid journalism. The author made a point to put out all the salacious details while withholding every detail that could be used to verify the story. Seems fishy to me.

          • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

He has the Rev on tape. That’s not going away. The Rev says he saved the email. This will be ignored by most of the media. They’re too busy worrying about how rich Romney is.

  • Chuck

I’m waiting for Chris Mathews, Brian Williams, Diane Sawyer and the like to put this as their headline story Monday evening. Any chance that will happen? Any chance they will even mention it? You’ve got to be kidding….

  • DormontDirtBag

This will be a good barometer of just how deep the media is in the tank for Barry Obama.

Dog on the roof and high school hijinx? National coverage about how it “raises questions.”

Hush money to batshit crazy “reverend”? Stay tuned for the media coverage…or non-coverage.

  • Dan

So we don’t even know if Obama knew about the offer. Fabulous reporting on half the story. And the quotes attributed to Obama are 100% fine. Elections get nasty. Asking an old friend to help you out by keeping your mouth shut is perfectly fine, and legal.

Did Wright take the money? Did the New York Post bribe the reverand to make up the part about the bribe? I wouldn’t put it past that rag.

    • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

But no questions about the Washington Post’s story on Romney from 47 years ago? You believe Obamawhen he says he never heard any of those anti-American, ant-white sermons in the anti-white ,Marxist church that he joined? That he knew nothing about the guy whose quote he used for the title of his autobiography? What about Obama being different? Whether Wright took the money is irrelevant. It’s about Obama’s honesty and whether he’s the guy who was sold to us 4 years ago.

      • Dan

So the formative years things only count when it’s about Obama and what he may or may not have absorbed while talking with people over the years, but Romney holding a gay kid down and cutting his hair with the rest of his yacht club buddies and laughing about it when asked doesn’t tell us anything about how what kind of a person this guy might be? At least in Romney’s case we have proof of something actually happening. Bill Maher nailed it – we all did some stupid shit when we were kids, but most never did anything like THAT. The ones who pounded on kids for being different or poor or weak like they were picking wings off a fly and don’t show any real remorse are pretty much the same assholes today that they were then.

        • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

I was a senior in high school in 1965. This story about Romney…taken in context is a big nothing. The Beatles had been around for less than a year. Unless you were a kid at that time, you have no idea what a big issue hair was and how much turmoil was caused by boys suddenly wearing their hair long. This kind of stuff happened every day in every school. Maher didn’t live it. I did. It’s ridiculous to assign Romeny and his buddies the same attitudes about hair and gay kids that you exact kids to have now. What do you think Bill Clinton’s attitude toward Blacks was when he was a senior in highschoolish in 1964? His brother was still dropping the N word on a regular basis in the 90s.

          • oksteeler

Bingo! This had nothing to do with him being gay and very, very doubtful him being gay was even a consideration. People didn’t come out as gay back then and the first thought about a feminine guy back then was not that he was gay.
If it happened the way they claim, the family of the guy said it didn’t happen the way they claim, it was about his hair, nothing more nothing less. Daddies didn’t let their daughters date boys with long hair, long hair was not acceptable and long haired boys were teased and ridiculed by boys and girls alike. You add in this was a prep school with rules on clothes and hair and you get the wrong part.

Obama shoved a fat nerdy black girl in grade school and stayed drunk through hs and smoked reefer and did other drugs. Called a black guy in college a “Tom” for wearing white clothes This is just what we know from his own words in his book. I wonder what we’d know if the media was actually trying to dig up dirt on him like they are Romney?

          • Yardley

Are you saying that in 1965 it was not unusual for kids with long hair to be held down and have their hair cut with scissors on high school campuses?

          • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

I’m saying that there were constant battles between kids with long hair and kids who weren’t ready to go there. It seems a lot worse reading about it in 2012. In 1965 it was no big deal and the word gay only meant happy. I was locked in a broom closet in 1963 by a teacher. I was also stuffed in a wastebasket in the front of the classroom. We were required to wer sportscoats and i had a teacher who would take 2 erasers, wipe the chalkboard and then pat us down, covering us with chalk. We had to walk around school all day with our sports coats covered in chalk. I had a teacher call me Ringo and Tell me to leave school and go get a haircut. I left, got my haircut and went back to school. No notice to my parents. No trauma. This sounds horrifying to most people in 2012. We laughed about it when it happened.

          • Yardley

So that was two sentences of dodging and a paragraph of obfuscation. I’ll take that as a, “Yes, I never saw any kid held down and sheared with scissors when I was in high school and if I did I would have remembered it.” It’s the sign of a true GOP hack to defend Romney on this. When Romney was confronted by the story he said, “Ha ha ha, I don’t remember the story but I’ve read the reports and I don’t dispute them.” So we can agree that Romney held a kid down and cut his hair off with scissors when he was 18 and that is something that anyone would remember doing, so when he says he doesn’t remember it he is lying. It’s good to know we can agree that Romney is a liar.

          • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

I don’t care if he shaved the kid bald. He was 17. It’s beyond hilarious that the Democrats are this desperate. What’s more hilarious is the fact that more attention will be paid to this than was paid to stories about BillnClinton using Arkansas state troopers to round up chicks. Or the fact that a woman went on national TV and accused him of raping her when he was Attorney General. Are you really going to spend more than 10 seconds talking about what a guy did when he was 17? After supporting a piece of shit like Bill Clinton?

Here ‘s another example of what a typical Chicago hack this guy is:
            http://dailycaller.com/2012/05/15/longtime-obama-pal-eric-whitaker-keeps-popping-onto-political-scene/

          • Yardley

He was a senior in high school. He organized a group of kids to hold a gay guy down and cut his hair with scissors. First you tried to say the WaPo made the story up, then you tried to say that it was of its time and no big deal, now you want to talk about Bill Clinton’s penis. But I’m desperate? Try addressing the Romney story head on. If you held a kid down and cut his hair with scissors when you were a senior in high school would you remember doing that? This is not making fun of a kid or giving somebody a wedgie, its cutting someone’s hair off with scissors. You’re very quick to call Obama a liar over Rev Wright’s sermons. Can you admit that Romney is lying when he says he doesn’t remember cutting someone hair with scissors when he was 17 or are you too partisan to admit the obvious?

          • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

I said the WaPo story rose to the level of high school journalism. Never denied that it happened. It was 1965. Unless you were a teenager at that time –WHICH I WAS– you can’t view the story in its proper context. I don’t care if he held the kid down and shaved off all of his body hair. He was 17. Nothing short of a felony that he might have committed at that age is relevant. Maybe he held lots of kids down and cut their hair and couldn’t remember any one single incident. I went to an all boys Catholic high school from 1962-66. I remember stuffing a kid in a dumbwaiter. I remember a kid shitting in a hat and putting it another kid’s car on a hot steamy day. Two kids pissed on the student body from the auditorium balcony during an assembly. Kids who had serious acne problems were ridiculed unmercifully. I took my share of abuse for being one of the smallest kids in the class and looking like I was about 12 when I was 15. I could never begin to remember every stupid, mean incident that I saw, was aq victim of or played a part in. It was called growing up. The teachers smacked us around, made us take off our sport coats and opened the windows on frigid days, made us do knee bends in the back of a classroom for not having a homework assignment. I was smacked with a two by four –once on the ass and once on the palm of my hand by a 6’6 teacher when I was 15. It hurt a lot. Especially the one on my open hand. That really hurt. My mother is 95 and still has no idea that it happened. Everyone one of us who got smacked, were laughing about it the hall 20 minutes later.Everybody knew the vice principal who always seemed to show up in the locker room when we were showering after gym class was gay (We didn’t use that word. Trust me.) and we laughed about it. I guarantee you that few if any people of my generation batted an eye when they heard the Romney story. I guess I can understand why it would seem horrible to people of a certain age who were either coddled themselves or now coddle their kids and worry about them being traumatized for life by being the recipient of an unkind remark. And how much credibility do you have when you reduce a woman charging the president of the United States with raping her to a discussion of Bill Clinton’s penis? This nothing story about Romney has already gotten more attention from some media outlets than the rape charges against Clinton, who was already president.
(I just came across a piece written by Michael Barone, who was a student at Romney’s school. He adds some of the same context to the story.)

Actually my husband said he was held in a chair and had his hair cut in 7th grade. I’ve seen pictures of him before they cut it and it wasn’t even long, just long for the times and area he was in.
His family moved to a rural area and rural school. He was teased the first week of school about his hair and was going to have his Mom take him to get a haircut that weekend, but older boys in school decided to take care of it on Friday. They didn’t do it because they thought he was gay, they didn’t even do it to bully him, it was more of a welcome to the new kid. He wasn’t traumatized and became good friends with some of the boys. Today it would be assault, the same as when I was a kid and we didn’t like a teacher, we’d find their house and toilet paper and egg it, today that would be vandalism. We live in a different world now and people are looking at Romney cutting a kid’s hair through today’s glasses not 60’s glasses.
I still ask though which is worse, cutting some kid’s hair in HS or doing drugs in HS and saying some black kid should be a Tom and not a Tim because he wears white clothes?

Do you have proof? Washington Post already had to add an editor’s note to their story after the fact.

Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story reported that White “has long been bothered” by the Lauber incident. White later clarified in a subsequent interview that he has been disturbed by the incident since he learned of it several weeks ago from a former classmate, before being contacted by The Washington Post.

What you really have to ask yourself is whether this whole Wright thing from the start matters one bit or has anything to do with his ability to run the country. By the way, you’ve had the media take snippets of things you’ve said out of context and pounce all over you before. You’ve felt the frustration of having years of reputation and work dragged through the mud by a couple of basement bloggers who sent something viral. Yet you feel no sympathy or understanding that maybe the same thing happened to Wright. People say things like what he said in frustration all the time. 27 years down the drain over a few quotes that, really, aren’t even that bad? They wouldn’t even be that bad if Obama had said them himself!

I know all about what can happen on the Internet. My major questions whether the dinosaur media will follow up on this. I also know that the media have been in the tank for Obama from the beginning. Rev.Wright is very important because he puts the lie to Obama’s image of a transformational candidate. His associations matter. They indicate that he is a radical and disingenuous at best.

Let me clue you in John- none of them are the guy they sell to us.

        • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

Obviously. But it’s a questions of degrees. That’s why it’s the media”s jobi to cut through the bullshit. Something they made no effort to do with Obama, who was sold as a messiah.

          • Blasto

“Messiah” is a phrase/word attached to Obama only by the RushHannity wing of the Republican party. You always wonder why people always classify GOPers as non thinking followers of those 2..?..there is your answer right there.
If you are waiting for the media to cut through anyones bullshit you will be waiting a long time. This goes for both parties…

          • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

Bullshit. He was promoted as the saviour of the world and that’s not an exaggeration. That’s a messiah. Maybe saviour is a better word if you want to be picky. He actually said,on election night that today will the day when the oceans will recede . Get off them Rush Hannity theme. It’s old, tired and condescending.

          • Blasto

I call bullshit on your bullshit. Only a dyed in the wool Fox and nothing but Fox believer would write something like that bullshit you just wrote calling my bullshit, bullshit.
The GOP supporters want people to get off the Rush Hannity nonsense then stop parroting what they say and introduce. That’s where that messiah bullshit started and when you post it here like it’s fact don’t be suprised when someone calls it exactlly what it is- Rushhannity Bullsheeit.

          • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

What people like you don’t understand is that conservatives created Limbaugh and Hannity. Not the other way around. Fox was created to qppeall to a huge already existing and under served audience.i was watching and reading William F Buckley and supporting Barry Goldwater when I was 16. So, for you to suggest that I need either Limbaugh or Hannity to form my opinions is condescending, ignorant, liberal talking point, unoriginal, juvenile bullshit. Sorry.

          • Blasto

I understand it perfectly. It has nothing to do with my point that any jackass that refers to the President as the “messiah” was spoon fed that name by Rush and/or Hannity. Sorry John, you did not start calling Obama “the messiah” until you heard it from one of them. I’m not insinuating you’ve garnered your Conservative philisophy from them…but you did get THAT Juvenile GOPer talking point directly from their mouths.

          • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

Actually I didn’t “get it” from anywhere. You don’t think he was being sold as the messiah?

          • http://justwatchthegame.com John Steigerwald

            No I didn’t.

    • DormontDirtBag

Or maybe Rev.Wright secretly works for Karl Rove. Or maybe Sean Hannity bribed the reverend on direct orders from Rush Limbaugh and the Koch brothers.

Obama could be found in bed with a dead girl and liberals would still defend him. Which I suppose was proven by how they behaved after Kennedy and Chappaquiddick.
